Chakras are known as the point of physical and spiritual energy in the body and comes from the Sanskrit word for ‘wheel’. There are seven major chakras located in your body and are aligned from the top of your head to the base of the spine. Chakras are not physical things that you can touch but rather are something that you can feel and sense.

The Base Chakra is located at the perineum, the base of your spine. It is the Chakra closest to the earth. It's linked with earthly grounding and physical survival. This Chakra is associated with your legs, feet, bones, large intestine and adrenal glands. It controls your survival instincts. The blocking of this Chakra could result in paranoia, fear, procrastination and defensiveness.
This is located between your spine and naval and is concerned with wellbeing, pleasure and sexuality. The blockage of this Chakra could manifest in high emotions.
Located in the upper abdomen area near the stomach, this Chakra has connection to your digestive system, muscles and adrenals and is the center of emotions as well as sense of personal power. Misalignment of this Chakra could manifest in anger and frustration.
Located within your heart, its function is linked with the ability to love and is centered around the emotions of inner peace, love and joy.
Located in the throat, it is linked to our ability to communicate and self-express our emotions. The misalignment of this Chakra can result in the blocking of creativity.
Also known as the third eye, it is located near the forehead at eye level and is linked with one's intuitive thinking and logic. It is centered around our ability to focus on the bigger picture and use our imagination.
Located in the crown of the head, this Chakra has connection to spirituality and unity. Signs of a balanced crown chakra include a general blissful feeling and health. It is also linked with the central nervous system and the pineal gland, concerned with information, understanding, acceptance and bliss.
